RW 160 Mombasa Highlights
The day begins with
a tour of Mombasa, including a visit to Fort Jesus and the Akamba
wood carvers. After lunch at a local Chinese restaurant, travel
to Haller Park (formerly known as the Bamburi Nature Trail). The
area was reclaimed from a coal quarry and turned into a nature
trail. Along with a chance to see a working fish farm, hippos,
buffalo, antelope and birdlife may also be seen.

Day
1 Mombasa-Tsavo West (LD)
Drive to Tsavo West, part of Kenya's largest National Park. This
is the land of Denys Finch Hatton fame. Enjoy a game drive in
the park, once home to over 50,000 elephants. Overnight: Finch
Hattons Tented Camp
Day 2 Tsavo West (BLD)
A full day allows time for both morning and afternoon game drives.
Overnight: Finch Hattons Tented Camp
Day 3 Tsavo West-Mombasa (B)
After an early morning game drive and breakfast, return by road
to Mombasa

Arrive in Mombasa where you will be met and transferred to your
choice of beach hotel.

Day 2 Mombasa (BD)
A full day at leisure to enjoy the hotel's water-based optional
activities or simply relax poolside. Why not take an optional Dhow
Cruise or enjoy the Sun et Lumiere Show this evening?

Day 3 Mombasa (BD)

Today drive to Shimba Hills National Park, a 320 square kilometre
forest, first made a reserve in 1903. Among the species found here
are the handsome and rare roan antelope and sable antelope. Tonight
enjoy nocturnal game viewing at your lodge's floodlit waterhole.

Day 5 Shimba Hills-Mombasa (BD)
Return by road to Mombasa today, where the remainder of the day
is at leisure. Overnight: Indian Ocean Beach Club or Nyali Beach

Day 6 Mombasa (BD)
A final day to enjoy the beach or perhaps take an optional excursion
in Mombasa. Overnight: Indian Ocean Beach Club or Nyali Beach Club
Day 7 Mombasa-Depart (B)
You will be transferred to the airport for your departing flight
today.
RW 163 - 2 Nights Lamu
Beach Paradise
Day
1 Lamu
A scheduled flight takes you to Manda Island where a dhow transfer
takes you across the waterway to Lamu Island. Lamu is one of Kenya's
oldest towns and a perfect place to both explore historical ruins
and relax on secluded beaches. The afternoon is at leisure.
Overnight: New Lamu Palace Hotel
Day 2 Lamu (B)
A full day at leisure to explore the island. Little has changed
in Lamu in the last century. Be sure to stop at one of Lamu's
20 mosques to admire the ornate and intricate woodwork. Good shopping
includes local baskets and mats.

Day 3 Lamu-Depart (B)
A dhow transfer takes you back to Manda Island for the return
flight to Mombasa or Nairobi
RW 164 - 2 Nights Kiwayu
Safari Village Tour

1 Kiwayu (LD)
Just beyond Lamu lies a glistening archipelago of coral islands,
including the island of Kiwayu. A scheduled light aircraft flight
takes you to this picturesque island. During your free afternoon,
why not try snorkeling among the coral?

Day 2 Kiwayu (BUD)
The day is at leisure. Scuba-diving and sailing are just two of
the water-based optional activities available. Turtles lay their
eggs along the sandy beaches and clams over 150 years old are
found among the coral.
