African Adventure Travel
Is Queenstown New Zealand worth the trip?
I’ve been wanting to travel to Queenstown new zealand for a while now but if or when I am able to save up enough to go I could only stay for about 8 days. Since I would be traveling from Mid-America that would mean about two days of travel one way. So is it worth it? What’s public transportation like (I don’t plan on renting a car). What are some things I could do there (I’m not much for “adventure” type activities but I’m open to suggestions 
. How are tourists of different races treated (I’m african american)?
Any other helpful insights are appreciated
Queenstown is gorgeous and surprisingly small. However it is kind of expensive.
I doubt very much that you would suffer from racism as New Zealanders as a whole are very open. Unfortunately there are some close minded people here, but I guess you get them anywhere. Queenstown is a tourist mecca and you would be one of many different races visiting there.
Getting from the airport into Queenstown would require you hiring a cab or using a shuttle. Once in Queenstown everything is within walking distance. If you are not the adventurous kind, you could take a boat ride on the lake, go up the gondola (wonderful views), go “under” the lake to view trout face to face, take a ride on the jetboats, ski in the winter season, and take a lot of scenic walks.
The nightlife, restaurants and bars are very good as Queenstown is geared for tourists.
I would personally recommend that if you only have 8 days in NZ you don’t spend them all in Queenstown. It is very small, and you could see so much more of our wonderful country on your trip.

To sum up, NZ is worth the trip, but maybe plan on seeing a little more than just Queenstown.
