Luxury safari holidays, experience the ultimate in luxury on an African safari by Jack Jones
Luxury safari holidays, experience the ultimate in luxury on an African safari, whether you’re planning your luxury honeymoon, family holiday or a holiday with a certain je ne Sais quoi, then a luxury safari holiday could be the perfect solution.
The safari travel market has seen an impressive boom in holiday makers wanting some more from their holiday than simply visiting the local beach and a few attractions, todays modern tourist wants a more exhilarating experience for their money. The market has seen a rise of 10% in tourists visiting safari parks and game reserves throughout Africa since May 2011.
Planning a luxury safari holiday to Africa can for some be a very challenging and daunting prospect, some people perceive that the planning itself takes and awful lot of effort to prepare and some have no idea where to begin. I do agree to a certain extent that certain elements to planning a safari holiday take more planning and research than other holidays, but as the saying goes, you only get out what you put in. Below are a few helpful tips to help plan a luxury safari holiday.
Your safari destination – is notably the most difficult choice to make, each of the Southern African nations has its very own unique identity. It is therefore important to research into the type of safari that you wish to do, the type of animals you wish to see and whether you wish to visit the local cities and villages. Taking all these into consideration should enable you to at least narrow down your selection of safari destinations, conducting more research into the remaining destinations should then decipher your safari destination.
Should you be unable to select between the remainder of your destinations, you could create your own twin centre holiday and combine your remaining safari destinations together, giving you two distinct elements to your luxury safari holiday.
What to pack – generally you should try to pack as light as possible, particularly if your itinerary involves moving through several camps. For your safari it’s important to pack lightly coloured, breathable clothing with plenty of socks, a good pair of walking boots, and perhaps some more formal footwear if you are dinning out. It is important to take long sleeved tops and trousers to wear during the evening, to avoid being bitten by mosquitos. Take plenty of sun screen and insect repellent and sun hats for each member of your party. Investing in a good pair of binoculars and a good camera is also advisable. If you are considering travelling during the African winter months, then prepare for much cooler temperatures and pack accordingly with long trousers and a good coat and perhaps even a fleece.
Before you go please make sure that you have purchased travel insurance and that it covers you for going on safari. Please note that not all places in Africa accept travel insurance, so please make sure that you have some emergency cash just in case, there is no telling what the African wildlife could throw at you, so it’s best to harbour on the safe side.

Working with Families of African Caribbean Origin $36.95 Many of those who emigrated from the Caribbean to the UK after World War II left behind partners and children, causing the break-up of families who were often not reunited for several years. In this book, Elaine Arnold examines the psychological impact that immigration had on these families, in particular with relation to attachment issues. She demonstrates that the disruption caused by separation from both family and country often had long-term traumatic consequences. The book draws on two studies carried out by the author in 1975 and 2001. In the first, she interviewed mothers who had emigrated without their children, and in the second, children (now adults) who had been left behind and were later reunited with their parents. This insightful book will assist all those working with people of African Caribbean origin in the UK to better understand their experiences and the impact that separation and loss has had on their lives. It is essential reading for social workers, counsellors, therapists and any other professionals working with families of African Caribbean origin. |
